continued--Maintenance of Human Health--The difference aspects of health and its different requirements have already been discussed ; question now arises whether the meeting of the requirements is adequate for proper maintenance of health. Proper maintenance of health demands some other attachment which help to build a strong body to bear the hazards of daily life , skip off disease and disablement and make a powerful mind and intellect to conquer the affliction, disappointment, despondency, hopelessness and in other words all the dark and abominable tendencies threatening self and others as well. The remedial ways are many ; from simple daily walking to rigorous field practices involving innumerable local , national and international sports and games where participate millions of people either in amateur or professional way to maintain strong bodies. But average people remain out of the above group and can hardly spare time or do not desire at all to attend to competitive physical practices particularly at advanced age.It seems desirable that they should do free hand exercises or some simple floor exercises, swimming in house pools, riding horse (if possible), ,or playing games like table tennis, lawn tennis, squash or golf ( if possible ). Use of instruments and modern exercising gadgets as are used in gymnasiums suit the young people and the elderly except the professionals are unlikely to be attracted to the over straining practices. The fact remains that the above mentioned exercises maintain the physical health no doubt but mental and spiritual health are hardly affected by the above practices. Besides it has also been observed that very hard exercises undertaken over long period of time go to damage the body to make them totally inactive and useless and daily life then becomes a curse to them. Such instances are common that everybody knows and it is not necessary to cite any example. It is very much surprising that the ancient world in some countries came to know that mere physical body movements would not bring in the suitable solution of the problems. ...( to be continued.....)
